Please join John & Angela on April 25, 2015 as we celebrate our wedding in our hometown, Lafayette, Louisiana.

John's Story

John Brister grew up in Lafayette. He moved to Los Angeles at 16. He studied at UCLA. Make sure you meet some of his frat brothers during the weekend. John got into the film industry in his 20s.  He's known on IMDB for the blockbuster movie Stonerville.

Angela's Story

Angela McCallum also grew up in Lafayette.  She went to SMU in Dallas and then spent the next 20 years moving around from country to country,  learning languages and teaching English. Look out for the people with the funny accents and ask them where they met Angela. Incidentally, she, too, is known on IMDB for Stonerville.

Our Relationship

We went to high school together in Lafayette, but didn't reconnect until our 20th reunion.  John was living in L.A. & Angela in Argentina.  Eventually, John moved to Buenos Aires, learned some Spanish & became a chili cook-off champion. In 2013, we moved to New Orleans with our 4 cats. John proposed on our balcony in the French Quarter with the help of Felipe who wore the Mardi Gras beads the ring dangled off of.

Festival International

April 22 - 26, 2015

Downtown Lafayette

Festival International is a free,  outdoor, international music festival celebrating the French heritage of the Acadiana region, and it's our favorite time to go home. We wanted to share it with our friends and family from other places. In Lafayette, we simply call it Festival.

It starts on Wednesday, April 22 and goes through Sunday, April 26. We have rented a house one block away from the main stage for Saturday so that everyone will have a place to hang out when they're not out listening to great music.

It's a busy weekend in Lafayette, so you'll want to book flights and accommodations as soon as you can.

The ceremony will be short and sweet. We'll have some toasts and devour John's gumbo, red beans and rice, and who knows what more and then head out to the Festival.

The Esprit de Coeur house is right behind main stage. So please dress comfortably. Wear white if you like. Flip flops are fine. It's probably going to be pretty hot in the afternoon.

Saturday's lineup has bands from France, Belgium, Nova Scotia, Uganda, Mauritania, Nigeria, Guinea, and lots of local favorites.
